The Dog’s new beer venture
Following their freehold purchase of The Dog, brothers James and Charles Rogers have unveiled a direct barrel dispense system, installed and operational for the region’s many real ale lovers.
The new direct dispense will run alongside a range of hand pulled ales, ciders and wide choice of selected wines.
Commenting, Charles Rogers, who oversees the bar operation said: “Our new beer system will enable customers to savour a range of East Anglian beers, delivered direct from the barrel in tip-top condition. We’ve chosen to open with a selection from top brewers, such as Woodford’s, Nethergate, Adnams, Earl Soham and Green Jack and with the kind assistance of Woodford’s Brewery, are delighted to also be launching our own Grundisburgh Dog Ale.”
Along with these new beers, chef, James Rogers and the kitchen team are extending the range of bar food on offer, to include bites such as venison sausage rolls, wild boar scotch eggs, home pickled eggs, spicy sausage cooked in red wine and homemade crisps. James is also planning to experiment cooking with his pub’s new Grundisburgh Dog Ale.
